Psyche’s Task

by ClaudiaPalmira, Iconics blue, femme, green, multicolor, myth, natura, teal, urban

I continue to be obsessed with Agostino Veneziano’s illustrations of the myth of Cupid and Psyche by Apuleius (c.1530).

Bring This Artwork Into Your World

Can you imagine this piece in your space?

Each artwork from Claudia Palmira’s Iconics/Poetics series is produced on satin paper and mounted on luminous, artist-grade acrylic. The result is a contemporary finish that brings the artwork’s colors and depth to life.

The work tells me when it is done, I just need to be in a state of paying attention, and not letting the mind get in the way

Originals ! Even the Iconics series which is printed on acrylic glass is comprised of original images that become an art object only when produced in this format

I offer mentoring and workshops frequently in which I share techniques. If you’re not on my email list for this, send me a DM with your email or sign up on my website .

In my artwork, I usually have an idea of what I’m going to make in general, however my process is intuitive and emotional, so I let that lead me in the creation of the work. Whereas in my design pieces, the process is more structured and I may have a clearer idea of the outcome.

I happily make custom works and commissions!

A popular question about various works! I will be more descriptive in future captions 😉

💯yes. DM to book a visit!

The silk scarves are original paintings that are then printed on 100% Italian silk with reactive inks, and finished with a rolled hem. They are made to order, in very limited batches. The Opera Line is sold at The Met Opera Shop

All of my pieces from small to large can be shipped to most places ✨

Can you see my paintings in your home?

I’ve placed three works from the Maps of Time and Rome series into different interiors to imagine how they might live beyond the gallery walls.

These pieces bring together historic maps of Rome with my own layers of painting, collage and expression of the city.

Which do you prefer — 1, 2 or 3?

OTD 20 years ago, I took a flight from New York, starting an adventure I had no idea would take me where it did. Yes, I landed in Rome, Italy, where I remain today....but wow, the people, emotions, love, beauty, challenges, friendships, losses, discoveries and completely unexpected turns I have experienced!
I wish I could have put every one of you who has touched me, changed me, loved me, challenged me, worked with me, laughed with me, created with me, and been part of this ongoing journey into these few minutes. You know who you are!
Twenty years is impossible to fit into a little video. The adventure, btw, is still happening...

The Maps of Time and Rome is a series about experiencing a new place through the navigation of emotion and memory. Captions from a curatorial essay by Camilla Pigato.
Using Nolli’s 18th-century map of Rome, I layered acrylic, paper and printed graphics onto wood. Peeling walls, fragments of signage and layered textures inspire me.

Rome is a city where I have been lost and found many times. The Maps of Time and Rome is a series born from my experience of discovering Rome, not through conventional navigation, but through experiences and emotions.
Using Nolli’s 18th-century map of Rome, I layered acrylic paint and paper onto wood. Peeling walls, fragments and sweeps of color.
Each work is an emotional landscape: the mystery and sensuality of Rome, a navigation through time.
Three works from the series - Centro Pink, Roman Night and Centro Gold - will be exhibited in Prati this Saturday, October 17.
