I created this digital artwork while “sheltering in place” in Rome with my family during the coronavirus restrictions . The calligraphy overlaid is by Hon’ami Kōetsu, excerpts of 12 poems in the Shin kokin wakashū (New Collection of Poems Ancient and Modern), 1206. With this work, I offer a prayer for our global healing and renewal.
