The intense patterns and anti-minimalist return to color in some of fashion’s major collections this fall – Prada, Louis Vuitton – have inspired this design. Burgundy is especially on my radar, the deep black-tinted red is punchier than brown and more somber than orange, yet without red’s shock. Breaking out of the geometric repetition are two vintage circus performers, one on a high flying trapeze and the other peeking out from an elaborate veiled headdress.
