Scarfissima | An editorial expression
Magazine and publication design is dear to my heart. Besides being an art director, I have had the role of editor during several phases of my career.
To pair with my brand Clù, this summer we launched Scarfissima, a new editorial project dedicated to silk, art and people with flair.
The word itself describes a feeling: that final touch on a simple design, like what a scarf does to a look: a swish, a dash of color, a little aplomb. For each edition, we will meet an individual with her own style who embodies that spirit.
The design is intended to be artistic, colorful, with unexpected layers and colors. Each edition is its own collage, melding art and typography to form a special printed product. The final issues are printed on newsprint in a broadsheet format, the lightest type of paper we could find.
The first issue, featuring Anna Butterworth, is now online and the complete edition is complimentary.
