Poem (e.e. cummings)

On a sunset during my recent Restart Retreat in Tuscany, I reflected on the day’s sublime passage into night, with its palette of opposites: purple and orange, and their variations. Each day, we witness a new palette, a new organization of color and cloud, completely belonging to only this day – as it dissolves into only this night.

Whispered in this work, this excerpt from the poem “i thank you God for this most amazing” by e.e. cummings:

how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any–lifted from the no
of all nothing–human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?

(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)
