B. Flora | Silk scarf “remedies” X Clù
Some time ago, I was introduced to the Bach flower system, and it fascinated me. These are plants, identified by scientist Edward Bach, each one carrying a specific frequency, a remedy for disharmonious soul states. According to his system, nature had an answer for all these disturbances. While the traditional system called for tinctures, the names of these plants themselves are also potent.
Written down, printed, spoken aloud, these names exude frequencies. Could they be worn, I thought? This question inspired me to place them on silk, to be draped for beauty and healing at once.
I began to write and paint the Latin and English names of the flowers, experimenting with different textures and weights. Four of the Bach flowers stood out to me, and emerged in distinct colorways. After finalizing the written names, I then sketched the flowers’ “portraits”, combining them with a kimono-like stripe to link them.
The line B. Flora was born!

Working with my Rome Design Agency team, we then devised a series of old-timey pharmacy labels to go with each scarf, and the entire collection.
