Artwork for ‘Memory’ | The Tiny Biennale
While the Venice Biennale is winding down, Temple University’s Tiny Biennale is happening in Rome. Celebrating the University’s 60th anniversary, the exhibition brings together artists with the theme of Memories.
In this edition, my work Coscienza (after memory) is on display. This triptych of three spheres painted with ink and watercolor on paper measures 21 cm (8 inches) total; each tondo is 7 centimeters (2.75 inches).
Inspired by the Italian scientist Malanga and the Tri-Color Test he created unite consciousness through a visualization of three spheres, this work is a tribute to this powerful practice. Prior to their integration, in which return to their invisible, original and integrated state, the spheres have separated. Each has a color, texture and temperature, a kind of “memory” of the spheres.
Special thanks to Shara Wasserman, curator of the Temple Gallery in Rome (in the photo above with me), a champion of artists and artisans in Rome.
