Ares (Potential)

On the astrological occasion that Neptune is transiting to Aries for the next 15-year cycle, the fiery energy of this archetype is in my field of awareness. This work was doubly made as a special commission for an entrepreneurial gallerist who is a passionate student and writer of mythology.

The painting embedded in this painted collage is Mars by Giovanni Francesco Romanelli (1650). The calligraphic abstraction in ink is entitled You had me at oblivion (2025).
