Bio

Claudia Palmira is a Rome-based artist and designer whose work explores the layering of time, image, and language through calligraphic abstraction and iconographic collage. Her practice moves fluidly between fine art, design, and cultural authorship, forming a distinct visual language rooted in Rome’s historical memory and contemporary global culture.

Working across acrylic glass, paper, silk, and digital formats, Palmira integrates archival fragments, hand-rendered text, abstraction, and graphic iconography. Her ongoing series include Iconics / Poetics, Calligraphic Abstractionism, and a body of work translating fine art into collectible silk editions.

Claudia is the founder of the Calligraphic Abstractionism movement, an evolving artistic framework that positions writing, gesture, and symbolic form as central visual structures rather than narrative devices. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including solo exhibitions in Rome and New York, and institutional presentations at the United States Embassy Trimission Gallery (Rome), Circolo degli Esteri (Rome), and the Union League Club (New York).

In addition to her fine art practice, Claudia is an entrepreneur whose work bridges art and applied design. She founded Clù, a luxury art-driven brand translating her visual language into silk scarves, including her original Aria Scarf featured at The Metropolitan Opera Shop in New York.

Educated at Mount Holyoke College, Claudia brings a rigorously intellectual and culturally layered approach to her practice, positioning her work at the intersection of art, design and symbolic inquiry.
