Today’s Roman Diary of Corriere della sera : “Rome. I Live for Beauty” – Vernissage at the Circolo degli Esteri For New Yorker Claudia Palmira, a longtime resident of Rome for the past 20 years, the grand doors of the Artists’ Hall at the prestigious yet quintessentially Roman Circolo degli Esteri have opened wide. The other evening, the noble floor of the palazzo on Lungotevere dell’Acqua Acetosa was abuzz with guests for the vernissage of “Rome. I Live for Beauty”, an exhibition that pays homage to beauty through a fusion of photography, collage, and acrylic glass printing techniques. The 14 large-scale works, capturing an abstract yet contemporary vision of the Eternal City, drew the attention of renowned painter Alberto Di Fabio, known for his studio in New York and his open studio in Rome’s Pigneto district, where he nurtures young talents and explores artistic experimentation. The Circolo’s grand salon, overlooking its storied diving-pool terrace, welcomed an eclectic mix of guests, including photographer Mauro Benedetti (husband of Claudia Palmira), gallerists Paola Quaquarelli and Tamara Borghini, Giampiero Ruzzetti alongside Federica Balestra, actress Eliana Miglio, American jazz musician John Heinemann, as well as Domitilla and Claudia Ruffo di Calabria, Maria Fernanda Stagno d’Alcontres, and architects Gaetano Sersale, Filippo Caracciolo di Brienza, and Jaime Manca di Villahermosa. —Roberta Petronio #newyorkerinrome #thisdolcelife #circolodegliesteri #saladegliartisti #claudiainrome #artist #artopening
